Sentence Helper Sheet
I have made a grid with some sentence helpers for Thumper. He keeps a journal for reading. What I usually have him do is narrate back to me what he has read out loud to me, then I have him write one to two sentences down in his journal. I've been taping these sentence helper grids inside of his journal for him to use. I hope to see some improvement in getting started with writing by using these grids. Sometimes he will want me to write what he says inside of his grids for him. Then he will form the sentence in neat handwriting. This saves from having to write it down twice for those that are writing phobics!

AAS with AAR Books
I gave in and purchased the All About Reading books that go with Level 2 AAS. This adds so much more to our All About Spelling. Thumper is using AAS 2 and is on Step 10. He read "Matt the Musk Ox" today and then in his reading journal he wrote a summary of what he read along with a picture. This just seals the deal for us. Writing, spelling, reading Oh My!! I believe this is going to work well for him!

A Productive Week!
We all did pretty well this week with staying on task and keeping focus. I think the kids enjoy their materials that they are using......It takes alot of time documenting all three of the kids week, but I'll get it done! For now, I'll start with Thumper....he was very attentive in learning/reviewing his phonograms for All About Spelling. He very much adores the proclick book I made for him to use along with AAS 1. Curious George for our literature this week was a hit as well. At times, he didn't want to write, just draw, but he tried. We are using WWE 1 as well. We reviewed our OPGTR lessons from 3-4 weeks ago then moved on to new lessons. I added some pictures of a fun game he played while learning long vowel u pairs. I'm thrilled at how well our week went! I will be adding in some science, history/ss, and possibly some electives next week. When I get the chance, I'll add some reviews of Flower & Bambi's week, too!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
