Happy Halloween 2012 Pictures!
We LOVE Halloween!! Making our costumes is by far the most exciting thing of all!! This year Bambi decided she wanted to be a gladiator, Flower is reading Alice in Wonderland so she decided on Queen of Hearts, and Thumper just wanted to be an executioner! It takes alot of time and heart making these but we all treasure the process of making our own costumes!

Updates on the Learning Pages!!
I don't post frequently, but I do update the pages when I can. They are updated for now! I obviously can't put everything on their pages. This is just a little sample of what we do! Take a gander when you get a chance!

First Elemental Science Experiment!
Flower's 1st science experiment using Elemental Earth Science went pretty smoothly yesterday. The calculations part of the experiment really made her think.....she is not too familiar with doing this in science but she did an excellent job. She was able to manage this one on her own with a little help from me finding out the GHz on our microwave. It was a real treat for her to be able to EAT her experiment when she was finished! I'm only documenting the labs on the ES Earth Page.....Flower has decided she will do the 2 day schedule instead of the 5 day schedule. Yesterday, along with her experiment, she defined "universe" and added it to her student guide book where she will keep all her vocabulary for Unit 1. She also added the dates on the date sheets in her student guide book. I think she is going to add the dates to our timeline wall instead of adding dates in her book. She will either write it on the wall or print out a figure from our HTTA CD. She looked over her Memory Work, as well, that she is responsible for doing over the next few weeks. On Day 2 she will continue with reading from her Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia, discuss, prepare outline, and color/label her sketch in her student guide.
Hope those who follow this page will be able to see how Elemental Science is used on a weekly basis with a middle schooler!! So far, so good here!
